firecat
Firecat

“In the early 2000’s I introduced a design called the Super Skate. It was a performance fish ridden primarily as a thruster. At the time, the typical shortboards on tour were these 6’2” narrow, thin spears. I sized the Super Skate about two inches shorter with added width and thickness. As you can imagine, many surfers loved it because it was much better at gliding through fat sections and took a lot less effort to surf. After about a 5 year hiatus, we gave the Super Skate a refresh and called it the Firecat. It is now one of our favorite little fish to whip around on the south shore of Oahu.” - Eric

Similar to its predecessor, it has a speedy, low rocker and a modern performance bottom. The swallow tail gives it a little more lift in softer waves while keeping the outline sharp and drivey. We added a double channel because channels are cool—and our glassers love them. If you really want to turn on the afterburners, add a quad set up to the already speedy mix. A super versatile shape, it can be sized short and spicy or scaled up for added foam and stability.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0571/8074/9897/files/Firecat_6_0_881137_DSC6036_941c73ce-960c-499b-80f1-99881093ff02.png?v=1764730309
